Project Details

I worked on the UI/UX design of a damage assessment app intended to streamline reporting and documentation across departments. I began by mapping out user journeys and processes in Figma, using storyboards to visualize workflows and align expectations.

Adapting the polished designs into Microsoft Power Apps introduced platform-specific limitations. I adjusted layouts and interactions to ensure usability while staying within the framework’s constraints. Collaboration with stakeholders and developers was ongoing to refine the app for real-world use.

Obstacles

Key challenges faced during the project development

  • Large amounts of data
  • Strict web framework
  • Several work processes
  • Balancing detailed data capture

Retrospective

Working in Microsoft PowerApps reinforced the importance of designing with technical constraints in mind from the beginning to reduce rework. While learning and understanding the PowerApps framework, I found a new sense of respect for frameworks that were created with flexibility in mind.
